What Focus Lock does
Focus Lock helps you stay productive by blocking websites you choose during focus sessions, tracking session metrics, and (optionally) capturing screenshots during focus mode.
Data we collect
- Blocked sites list: the domains you add to your block list.
- Custom User ID: a locally stored identifier used to separate your settings and session reviews.
- Session metrics: focus start/end times, focus duration, time on task, and blocked-attempt counts.
- Screenshots (optional): if you enable screenshots, Focus Lock may capture low-resolution screenshots of your current tab during focus sessions.
How your data is used
- To block distraction sites while focus mode is active.
- To show your session history and productivity metrics.
- To help you review whether you stayed on task (when screenshots are enabled).
Where your data is stored
Focus Lock stores your settings and session data in your browser using Chrome extension
storage (chrome.storage.local).
By default, Focus Lock does not send your screenshots or browsing data to any external server.
If you enable cloud AI analysis in Settings, Focus Lock may send session metrics and a limited set of screenshots to our server so an AI model can analyse your focus sessions and return insights.
Payments
If you purchase Focus Lock Premium, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive information needed to fulfill your purchase (such as your subscription status and a customer identifier), but we do not receive your full payment card details.
Your choices & controls
- You can enable/disable screenshots anytime in Settings.
- You can edit your blocked-sites list anytime in Settings.
- You can remove the extension to delete Focus Lock data stored by the extension.
